Anime Discovery

When I was first introduced to Anime in my thirties, I thought it wasn’t for me. My daughter went to the Anime North Convention and when I dropped her off, I enjoyed looking at everyone that was so into Anime that they dressed up as his or her favorite characters.

One day my daughter and I were discussing the shows I used to watch when I was younger and I found that Cyber 6, one of my favorite shows, was in the category of Anime.

With more investigation into Anime, I realized I enjoyed the DVD Deathnote – Vol 1 and Vol 2. The storyline and the animation was amazing. The story was so intricate and the dialogue was interesting and intelligent, it pulled me in and kept me glued to my seat. I enjoyed the main characters, Kira, L and Near and I realized that I had to give Anime a little more of a chance as a genre.

I don’t think I would be a fan of Anime North but I have come to appreciate the art and the creative work that goes into that genre.

  1. Hey! I could have sworn I’ve been to this blog before but after checking through some of the post I realized it’s new to me. Anyways, I’m definitely delighted I found it and I’ll be book-marking and checking back often!

  2. I’ve been a fan of Anime since my teens and I’m in my 30’s now and I still love it. Some of them have better storylines than half of the regular TV shows out there…. certainly better than most cartoons now. Even my 10 year old is getting into it. 🙂

    • Thank you. Anime is actually not as bad as I made it out to be. I am enthralled by the Deathnote and intend to get a book at Anime North 2013 this year. Jenn
